I am a freelance writer and amateur photographer based in Italy, about 100 kms north of Rome.
We came to Italy in June 2015 and have loved every minute of it. The experience has been bewildering at times, but always fascinating.
FreeWheeling24 is about the ongoing experience and the things people touring the country often miss out on.
There is so much to see and experience in this ancient place, it’s impossible to fit it all in to the average three week holiday. Actually, it would be tough trying to fit it into the average lifetime.
Hopefully this blog will become a reference for people looking for a slightly different Italian experience. The style will be anecdotal, only covering places I have visited and observations I think will help visitors de-stress and enjoy their stay.
The photographs are all mine. One day I’ll own a Nikon SLR but ‘til then I have a point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot SX 130 IS, mostly used on the “Auto” setting. Where the Canon isn’t available, I’m definitely not above using my cell phone, an ancient Nokia E5 or my wife’s cell phone, a Samsung S4 Mini.
I hope you enjoy the blog and please comment – feedback is oxygen!
